Software Engineering Technical Leader

About the role

The Software Engineering Technical Leader will design, develop, and deliver high‑quality security features for Cisco products. You will guide the software lifecycle from technical design through production, ensuring security, scalability, and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Improve the software development lifecycle and agile engineering processes.
• Lead design and delivery of security features that enhance product value.
• Identify integration opportunities across products and track related metrics.
• Review, test, and optimise code for scalability, speed, and reliability.
• Produce technical design documentation and contribute to end‑user documentation.
• Resolve software issues in development and production, support on‑call escalations, and monitor systems.
• Collaborate with product, design, security, and engineering teams to capture requirements and deliver projects.
• Share knowledge through presentations, documentation, blogs, and newsletters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years, Master’s with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year of relevant experience.
• Proven experience developing production software, writing clean code, unit tests, and conducting code reviews.
• Strong background in troubleshooting, incident response, and post‑mortem analysis.
• Experience leading software projects, especially security‑focused or developer‑facing tools.
