Software Contract Negotiator / Data Analyst

About the role

Equifax is hiring a Software Contract Negotiator / Data Analyst in Heredia, Costa Rica, within its Sourcing / Procurement function. The role covers software and data license terms, license compliance positions and audit defense.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate and defend best-in-class software and data license and commercial terms.
• Partner with Business Units and Technology to optimize licensing and support based on demand and technology roadmaps.
• Verify software license entitlements, interpret contract use rights and recommend license optimization and risk mitigation strategies.
• Collect, organize and cleanse large amounts of data from multiple sources, then interpret it to formulate license compliance positions.
• Lead audit defense and compliance dispute negotiations.
• Manage work request volume, complexity and productivity within defined service levels.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Statistics or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in software contract negotiation.
• 2 years each in interpreting complex software license terms, optimizing software licenses and support, gathering data for compliance positions, and using asset management tools.
• Minimum English level B2.

Required skills

• Intermediate Excel or Google Sheets; advanced level sets you apart.
• Data acquisition and cleansing experience.
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure and virtualization technologies.
• Strong knowledge of software licensing models, compliance risks and contract negotiation.
