Senior Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will lead engineering guidance and project support for the design, development, and optimisation of products, processes, tooling and equipment. The role ensures efficient production operations, meets strategic goals and drives continuous improvement across the manufacturing floor.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate and complete technical activities to create new or improved manufacturing processes and design‑for‑manufacturability (DFM) solutions for current and next‑generation programs.
• Analyse complex problems using engineering principles and implement corrective actions to reduce non‑conforming products and improve yields.
• Collaborate with Quality and Development teams to integrate new products or processes into existing production lines.
• Lead NPI projects, product transfers and equipment installations, including training and preventive‑maintenance programmes.
• Create, maintain and approve device routers, bills of materials (BOM) and manufacturing procedures.
• Design and coordinate fabrication of process fixturing, gauging and other specialised tooling.
• Participate in Material Review Board, resolve non‑conformances and act as subject‑matter expert for multiple manufacturing engineering areas.
• Mentor junior manufacturing engineers and technicians, and represent the organisation on customer visits.
• Research and recommend new technologies, ensuring compliance with ISO, medical‑device and company quality systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or related engineering discipline.
• Significant experience (typically 5+ years) in manufacturing engineering within a regulated environment (e.g., medical devices).
• Proven ability to lead projects, drive process improvements and work effectively in a production setting.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and documentation skills.
• Experience with 5S, Operational Excellence programmes and capital equipment justification.
