Senior Data Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our remote team in Costa Rica. The role focuses on designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines and architecture to support cross‑functional analytics initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain scalable data pipeline architecture using Azure big‑data services.
• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non‑functional requirements.
• Automate manual processes, improve data delivery, and redesign infrastructure for scalability.
• Develop ETL processes with SQL and Azure technologies, including Azure Functions.
• Build analytics tools that provide actionable insights for product and business teams.
• Collaborate with executives, product, data, and design stakeholders to resolve data‑related issues.
• Ensure data separation and security across multiple Azure regions and data centers.
• Perform root‑cause analysis on data and processes to identify improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering.
• Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
• Self‑directed, able to support multiple teams and products.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑team collaboration.
