Senior Cyber Range Engineer

About the role

SimSpace is looking for a Senior Cyber Range Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain cloud‑based cyber ranges that enable realistic security training. You will work closely with security researchers and training specialists to build scalable, high‑fidelity environments that emulate enterprise infrastructures across multiple clouds.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and operate local and cloud‑based cyber range architectures supporting concurrent training scenarios.
• Develop automation frameworks for rapid provisioning, teardown, and reset of range environments using Infrastructure as Code.
• Create emulated cloud services when direct integration is not feasible or cost‑effective.
• Maintain strict security controls, network isolation, and monitoring to prevent range escape.
• Collaborate with content developers to translate training requirements into technical specifications.
• Provide expert guidance on SimSpace software, produce documentation, and deliver knowledge‑transfer sessions to customers and partners.

Required profile

• Strong bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish for written, virtual, and in‑person interactions.
• Advanced networking knowledge, including VPCs, VNets, subnets, routing, firewalls, security groups, NACLs, VPN and direct connectivity solutions.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud architecture, IaC tools (Puppet, Ansible), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and large‑scale VM deployment.
• Proficiency with monitoring, logging, cloud cost management, and resource optimization.
• Excellent problem‑solving, documentation, and customer interaction skills.
