Senior ASIC Verification Engineer

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is hiring a Senior ASIC Verification Engineer in Heredia, Costa Rica. The role is hybrid, with an average of 2 days per week spent in an HPE office. The engineer verifies, analyzes, develops, modifies and evaluates VLSI components and hardware systems, determines design verification through simulation software and builds physical implementations through multidimensional designs of complex integrated circuits.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project teams of electronic and VLSI engineers and internal and outsourced partners through all stages of VLSI design, validation and testing for complex products and platforms.
• Review and evaluate designs and project activities against VLSI technology and development guidelines, giving feedback to improve product quality.
• Provide VLSI expertise and platform leadership to cross-organization projects and programs.
• Mentor less experienced staff and take part in selecting future technical leaders.
• Drive VLSI innovation and integrate new technologies into projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 6-10 years of experience in VLSI design, verification or implementation.
• Subject-matter expertise or discipline leadership, shown through patents or publications in VLSI or electronic/hardware component design and tools.
• Executive-level written and verbal communication skills, mastery of English and the local language.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals, VLSI principles, digital logic and computer architecture.
• Expert knowledge of designing VLSI components, integrated circuits, architectures and algorithms.
• Programming and scripting, hardware description languages, EDA tools and/or FPGA tools.
• Coursework in VLSI design or VLSI concepts.
