Regulatory Specialist

About the role

The Regulatory Specialist ensures that all commercialized products across the CARICAM region meet sanitary registration requirements and regulatory compliance. Working closely with commercial, innovation, marketing, R&D, and FSQ teams, the role provides technical guidance on ingredients, formulas, labeling, and applicable legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and manage technical and legal dossiers for each product and country, responding to authority requests.
• Coordinate sanitary registrations for commercial SKUs across CARICAM in partnership with country lawyers.
• Review and approve documentation for import/export of new products.
• Maintain accurate registration records in internal systems such as SharePoint.
• Conduct regulatory risk assessments, update risk matrices, and document mitigation actions.
• Assess regional legal impacts and participate in advocacy forums.
• Execute formula‑related regulatory approvals and review label compliance.
• Support innovation projects in Costa Rica with feasibility assessments.
• Assist in planning and managing the regional registrations budget.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Engineering or a related field.
• Intermediate proficiency in English.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of food processing, regulations, labeling, and additives.
• Highly organized with strong synthesis, communication, and presentation abilities.
• Values‑driven and respectful collaborator.

Required skills

• SharePoint (or similar workflow tools) for documentation management.
