QA Automation Engineer

About the role

Software Mind is looking for a detail‑oriented QA Automation Engineer to join a fast‑growing fintech client. You will work closely with developers, product managers and cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure software quality and reliability, operating primarily in the Central Time (CT) zone.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and execute test plans, test cases and test scripts for web applications.
• Identify, document and track bugs, ensuring effective resolution.
• Perform both manual and automated testing to guarantee optimal performance and user experience.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand requirements and implement testing strategies.
• Write and maintain end‑to‑end automated tests using Playwright or similar frameworks.
• Use AI tools responsibly as an assistant, not a replacement, for human‑authored code.
• Continuously improve QA processes, frameworks and best practices.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging QA tools and industry trends.

Required profile

• Minimum B2 level English (90% written and oral) with strong communication skills.
• 2+ years of QA experience, including hands‑on work with E2E automation frameworks (Playwright preferred).
• Basic to intermediate coding experience in JavaScript, Ruby or Python.
• Experience with version control (GitHub) and issue tracking (JIRA).
• Proven ability to work through the full software development life cycle.
