Procurement Specialist - Indirect

About the role

AST SpaceMobile is seeking a Procurement Specialist to manage purchase orders, negotiate pricing, and maintain supplier relationships for indirect spend. The role supports the end‑to‑end procurement process, prepares RFPs, monitors contract compliance, and works closely with sourcing, manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and materials teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and approve purchase orders, process payments, and negotiate prices.
• Create requests for proposals (RFPs) and bid packages for new business categories.
• Monitor contract performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and resolve shortages or delays.
• Maintain PO status and shipping dates in NetSuite, performing end‑to‑end tracking.
• Identify supplier risks (production delays, quality issues, logistics) and lead mitigation actions.
• Generate and analyze purchasing and supply‑chain reports.
• Support buying planning by communicating lead times, demand forecasts, and delivery expectations.
• Partner with the Sourcing Manager on cost analysis and new vendor setup.
• Participate in manufacturing and engineering meetings and coordinate inventory movements with logistics and material teams.
• Develop and implement process‑improvement initiatives and define key performance indicators.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3‑4+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or purchasing, with hands‑on purchasing responsibilities.
