Primary Teacher Assistant

About the role

Golden Valley School is looking for a full‑time Primary Teacher Assistant to support our lead teachers in delivering a Montessori‑inspired, IB‑aligned curriculum. The role offers the chance to work in a bilingual, international environment while helping children aged 6‑12 thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with daily lessons, activities, and classroom management.
• Provide one‑on‑one or small‑group support to reinforce learning concepts.
• Supervise students during recess, transitions, and special events.
• Help maintain an organized, nurturing classroom environment.
• Prepare learning materials and contribute to a positive atmosphere.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.

Required profile

• Student or graduate in Education or a related field.
• Previous experience working with children aged 6‑12 in educational or recreational settings.
• Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
• Responsible, empathetic, patient, and organized.
• Open to feedback, professional development, and adaptable to a dynamic school environment.

Required skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Basic knowledge of child development and age‑appropriate educational practices.
• Ability to follow instructions, take initiative, and collaborate.
• Familiarity with Montessori or IB Primary Years Programme is a plus.
