Payroll Team Leader

About the role

Pfizer is seeking a Payroll Team Leader to oversee the end‑to‑end payroll operations for multiple markets. The role ensures timely, accurate and compliant payroll processing while driving continuous improvement and maintaining data confidentiality.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day payroll activities, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Plan and execute annual and year‑end payroll activities, including audits and compliance checks.
• Review and maintain payroll controls, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards such as SOP and SOX.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities and transformational projects.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams on payroll‑related matters and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency.
• Support, coach and develop payroll team members, handling performance conversations, hiring and training.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of global payroll laws and best practices.
• Experience in managing payroll operations across multiple countries or markets.
• Proven ability to lead a team, drive performance and foster a diverse, inclusive environment.
• Excellent analytical skills with a focus on audit findings and issue resolution.

Required skills

• Understanding of payroll controls and regulatory compliance (e.g., SOX, SOP).
• Experience with payroll process automation and improvement initiatives.
