Payroll Analyst (U.S. Payroll)

About the role

Sysco is hiring a Payroll Analyst to support its U.S. payroll operations. The role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with payroll regulations and internal controls, and covers payroll operations, audits, system administration, process improvements and stakeholder inquiries. It requires hands-on experience processing payroll for U.S.-based employees.

Key responsibilities

• Process payroll transactions accurately and on time, perform validations, reconciliations, audits and quality reviews, and resolve discrepancies and employee inquiries
• Maintain compliance with U.S. federal, state and local payroll tax, wage-and-hour and company requirements
• Act as Subject Matter Expert for Workday Payroll, Payroll eTIME, ADP EV5 and related systems, supporting testing, implementation, upgrades and troubleshooting with HRIS and IT teams
• Support payroll projects, process improvements and the creation of SOPs, and maintain accurate payroll records
• Support SOX controls and internal controls, and take part in audits and compliance reviews
• Respond to employee, manager and stakeholder inquiries through Salesforce, shared mailboxes and other channels

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or a related field; equivalent education and experience may be considered
• 3+ years of direct, hands-on experience processing U.S. payroll in a high-volume environment; experience only with non-U.S. payroll does not qualify
• Experience with payroll systems such as Workday and ADP, and preferably SAP, Oracle, UKG or similar
• Excellent English (B2+ or higher) and ability to collaborate across functions and geographies
• Preferred: experience with 1,500+ employees on a weekly or biweekly schedule, payroll project and testing experience, CPP/FPC certification and SOX compliance experience

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Payroll validations, reconciliations, tax withholding, deductions, adjustments and audit support
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and customer service skills
