Operations Specialist

About the role

OOCL is expanding its operations in Escazu, Costa Rica and is looking for an Operations Specialist to join its logistics team. The role involves coordinating shipment information, managing vessel loads, and supporting terminal and intermodal activities.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile shipment data between the terminal and internal systems to create accurate load lists and submit them via email or EDI before vessel cut‑off.
• Perform vessel clean‑up after sailing and promptly notify internal teams of any containers that failed to load.
• Monitor functional mailboxes for exceptional cases such as export back‑off and customs holds.
• Ensure proper waybills are secured on rail/road portals and resolve rail billing issues through email, chat, or phone.
• Handle additional vessel‑related terminal or intermodal tasks as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously and troubleshooting problems analytically.
• Strong attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
