About the role

The Plant Cleaning Operator will work in Cargill's food production facility in San Rafael, Alajuela, ensuring that equipment and plant areas are kept clean and safe. This permanent, rotating‑shift position supports production goals, food safety standards, and overall plant performance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and food‑safety compliance of equipment and the plant.
• Follow established operational and pre‑operational procedures.
• Complete verification sheets for SENASA inspections to confirm thorough cleaning.
• Perform deep cleaning of equipment and plant zones using pressure washers, hoses, foamers, and the centralized cleaning system.
• Conduct roof washing once per day and assist with plant release activities approximately every two months on Sundays.

Required profile

• Completed primary education or higher.
• Ability to read and write Spanish without difficulty.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Capable of lifting up to 25 kg with or without reasonable adjustments.
• Physically able to bend, climb stairs, kneel, squat, and twist safely.
• Willingness to work in environments with noise, dust, chemicals, and to use personal protective equipment.

Required skills

• Operation of pressure washing equipment.
• Use of hoses and foamers for cleaning.
• Familiarity with centralized cleaning systems.
• Basic troubleshooting of cleaning equipment.
