Officer, Red Family Fund

About the role

The Officer, Red Family Fund, will manage the IFRC’s Red Family Fund (RFF) to provide timely financial assistance to families of volunteers and staff who have lost their lives while serving. Working within the Volunteering Development & Youth Engagement unit of the Americas Region, the role ensures the Fund operates efficiently, complies with policies, and supports the organisation’s security and protection priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Administer day‑to‑day operations of the Red Family Fund, including case intake, verification, and disbursement of assistance.
• Maintain accurate records, update donor reports, and communicate fund status to stakeholders.
• Monitor fund performance, manage data, and conduct basic analysis to inform improvements.
• Ensure all activities adhere to IFRC policies, security standards, and humanitarian principles.
• Coordinate with regional and country offices to verify eligibility and process assistance requests.

Required profile

• Experience in managing financial assistance programmes or humanitarian fund administration.
• Familiarity with case processing, verification, and donor reporting procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work within established policies and compliance frameworks.
• Capacity to collaborate with diverse teams across the Americas region.
