Molding Engineer II (Injection Molding)

About the role

Freudenberg Medical is seeking a Molding Engineer II to lead injection molding initiatives at its Alajuela site. You will apply the T.I.M.E.™ methodology to ensure consistent, high‑quality production of medical devices and pharmaceutical components.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy and champion the T.I.M.E.™ (Thermoplastic Injection Molding Excellence) methodology in line with corporate standards.
• Develop robust, repeatable injection molding processes using scientific molding principles.
• Guide teams on Design of Experiments (DOE), process characterization, and operating window definition.
• Monitor process data, analyze metrology trends, and drive corrective actions to reduce scrap and non‑conforming product.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to resolve process variation and restore validated conditions after deviations.
• Partner with cross‑functional groups on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and continuous improvement projects.
• Provide training and coaching on standardized practices across shifts.
• Maintain required documentation, standards, and records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (Materials Engineering preferred).
• Minimum five years of experience in injection molding process engineering or hands‑on machine troubleshooting.
• Master Molder® II certification or ability to obtain it within 12 months.
