Medical Robotics Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Medical Robotics Engineer to design, develop, and maintain software that powers cutting‑edge medical robotics products and prototypes. The role is fully remote, collaborating with mechanical, electrical, QA/RA, and clinical teams to ensure robust, safe, and compliant solutions for regulated medical environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop robotics software modules for perception, localization, mapping, motion planning, and control.
• Integrate sensors such as stereo/RGB‑D cameras, IMU, encoders, and force/torque devices, and implement sensor fusion for reliable state estimation.
• Build simulation environments and test harnesses to evaluate performance, safety, and reliability under realistic clinical scenarios.
• Define and document requirements, interfaces, and test protocols supporting traceability and design controls.
• Execute verification and validation activities, including automated tests, performance benchmarking, and regression testing.
• Collaborate with QA/RA to align development with ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and IEC 62304 standards.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in robotics engineering, robotics software, or related autonomy systems.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and Python with production‑quality engineering practices.
• Hands‑on experience with ROS/ROS2, middleware integration, and robotics debugging tools.
• Working knowledge of perception (computer vision), SLAM/state estimation, and motion planning/control fundamentals.
• Experience creating test plans, hardware‑in‑the‑loop setups, and simulation environments.
