Manufacturing Engineer I

About the role

CooperSurgical is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I to support the production of medical devices. The role will work within a value‑stream team to ensure equipment performance, capacity, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute basic engineering assignments such as ECNs, NPEs, and LCNs independently.
• Validate equipment and perform preventative maintenance and calibrations.
• Support large‑scale projects, including product transfers and new product integration.
• Ensure manufacturing processes comply with FDA, OSHA, ISO, and corporate regulations.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and assist technicians.
• Participate in cost, quality, and capacity improvement programs.
• Collaborate with technical operations to modify part designs for better manufacturability.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in mechanical, electrical, chemistry, biomedical, microbiology or related field.
• Experience in a labor‑ and machine‑intensive manufacturing environment (preferred).
• Basic project‑management knowledge.
• Understanding of equipment qualification and process validation.
• Familiarity with medical‑device manufacturing and FDA GMP requirements.
