Legal Case Specialist

About the role

Cedar Financial is seeking a Legal Case Specialist to join its San Jose office. You will be responsible for reviewing debt‑collection files, placing eligible cases with partner attorneys, and ensuring smooth communication throughout the litigation process.

Key responsibilities

• Review and assess debt‑collection files for eligibility for legal action.
• Identify appropriate partner attorney offices and verify all required documentation before file placement.
• Maintain regular liaison with attorney offices, monitoring case progress, settlements, and judgments.
• Collaborate with legal CSRs, compliance, CSM, and accounting teams to facilitate efficient file liquidation.
• Participate in meetings to discuss case status and process improvements.
• Maintain accurate records of communications and actions taken.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on case milestones, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in legal case management, debt collection, or a similar role.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Detail‑oriented with problem‑solving skills and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Understanding of compliance and legal processes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with legal case management software.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications.
