Lead Accountant – Manufacturing Cost & Financial Reporting

About the role

Lutron is seeking a Lead Accountant in Cartago to ensure accurate financial information for its manufacturing operations. The role combines general accounting duties with cost‑accounting responsibilities, supporting inventory valuation, product costing, and profitability analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update standard costs, valuing raw materials, work‑in‑process, and finished goods.
• Prepare cost‑related journal entries, reconcile inventory and manufacturing accounts, and support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting for the manufacturing segment and provide margin insights for pricing and strategic decisions.
• Improve cost‑accounting processes, ensure ERP data integrity, and participate in system upgrades.
• Communicate financial insights to non‑finance stakeholders and support ad‑hoc analyses focused on cost and profitability improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field (Master’s or CPA/CMA preferred).
• Minimum 6 years of progressive accounting and cost‑accounting experience; public accounting a plus.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, internal controls, and standard costing.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate across functions.

Required skills

• ERP systems experience – SAP strongly preferred.
• Advanced Excel (financial modeling, what‑if/sensitivity analysis).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
