L2 TAC Aruba Switching Engineer

About the role

The L2 TAC Aruba Switching Engineer provides advanced technical troubleshooting and resolution for complex enterprise and data‑center switching issues across Aruba CX and AOS‑S platforms. This hybrid role works primarily from an HPE office two days a week and supports customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Own and resolve high‑severity (Sev 1/Sev 2) switching incidents escalated from Level 1 support.
• Perform advanced fault isolation, protocol analysis, and root‑cause investigations in Aruba CX, AOS‑S, VSX, VSF, Aruba Central and multi‑vendor environments.
• Troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies such as STP, LACP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, VRFs, and high‑availability architectures.
• Analyze performance issues including QoS, CPU, memory, TCAM utilization, packet loss, MTU mismatches and hardware interoperability.
• Lead root‑cause analysis, develop work‑arounds and provide guidance during critical incidents.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams by supplying packet captures, logs and reproducible test cases.
• Mentor Level 1 engineers, improve case quality and participate in defect reviews and outage management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or IT (preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in enterprise switching TAC, network engineering or data‑center/campus networking.
• Relevant certifications such as Aruba ACSP/ACSX, CCNP Enterprise/Data Center, ITIL Expert (nice to have).

Required skills

• Aruba CX, Aruba AOS‑S, VSX, VSF, Aruba Central.
• Multi‑vendor networking (Cisco, Juniper, Arista).
• Layer 2/Layer 3 protocols: STP, LACP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, VRFs.
• High‑availability and routing convergence design.
• QoS, CPU/Memory/TCAM performance analysis.
• Packet‑level troubleshooting using PCAPs.
