IT Support Specialist - Excel Nearshore

About the role

Excel Nearshore is hiring an IT Support Specialist to work with a leading medical device company that designs, develops and manufactures medical devices across their full product lifecycle. The specialist ensures the availability, continuity, security and proper operation of the organization's IT infrastructure, combining end-user support, network and server administration, information security, virtualization, backup and recovery, asset management and enterprise system support. The position is full-time and hybrid, based in Cartago, Costa Rica, with 3-4 days onsite per week and 1-2 days remote.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support and administer the technology infrastructure by resolving incidents, preventing failures and managing critical platforms
• Assist users, resolve hardware, software and connectivity incidents and manage tickets
• Administer LAN/WAN networks, routers, switches, VPNs and wireless connections
• Manage firewalls, antivirus solutions, access, permissions and security policies
• Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Hyper-V and cloud services
• Oversee backups, restorations and information recovery
• Support Microsoft 365, ERP, MES and other corporate applications
• Manage inventories, licenses, equipment and technical documentation
• Support procurement, renewals, implementations and infrastructure improvements
• Develop tools and reports with Power BI, Power Apps, Python or other technologies

Required profile

• Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Networking or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical support or IT infrastructure
• Fluent Spanish; technical English preferred
• Customer focus, attention to detail, confidentiality, teamwork, effective communication and proactivity
