Intermediate Markets Controller Analyst

About the role

The Intermediate Markets Controller Analyst ensures the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of the bank's books and records. Working closely with the Finance team, the role supports data integrity, general ledger reconciliation, profit attribution, valuation control, and product P&L and balance‑sheet reporting across multiple regions.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, assess, and evaluate processes and data, identifying gaps and control issues.
• Escalate anomalies promptly and provide data‑driven recommendations.
• Oversee daily P&L production, validation, and reporting for LATAM.
• Validate sub‑ledger and ledger entries on a daily and month‑end basis.
• Review balance‑sheet and regulatory reporting impacts, month‑end closing, and disclosure reporting.
• Conduct profit attribution analysis and communicate results to trading desks and senior management.
• Partner with the Valuation Control Group to supervise inventory valuation testing.
• Collaborate with finance directors, trading desks, middle office, risk, and operations to resolve issues and drive process improvements.
• Provide analytics and control metrics for management and support ad‑hoc projects, including system development and process redesign.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience supporting secured financial derivatives or fixed‑income trading desks.
• Strong knowledge of accounting fundamentals across various methodologies.
• Understanding of cash flows, asset valuation, and portfolio management, especially for rates‑related products.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
