High School English Teacher – August 2026 start

About the role

ASQ International is seeking a qualified High School English Teacher to join a prestigious international academy in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. The role begins on 3 August 2026 and focuses on teaching Grade 10, Grade 11 and AP Language and Composition to motivated students.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Grade 10, Grade 11 and AP Language and Composition classes.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop students' critical thinking, writing and analytical skills.
• Assess student work and provide constructive feedback.
• Contribute to extracurricular activities such as language clubs or school events.

Required profile

• Prior experience teaching high school English, preferably with AP Language and Composition.
• Relevant teaching qualification (PGCE, teaching licence) or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of Grade 10, Grade 11 and AP curriculum standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Curriculum design and lesson planning.
• Student assessment and feedback.
• Classroom management.
