Firewall Engineer / Manager – Cyber SDC

About the role

EY is seeking a seasoned Firewall Engineer / Manager to lead firewall operations and network sensing within its Cyber SDC practice. The role involves deploying, configuring and managing firewall and network visibility solutions for client environments, ensuring optimal security and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, manage, and optimize firewall solutions to establish effective security controls.
• Monitor network traffic and security events to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Conduct thorough analysis of security incidents, including root cause analysis and remediation.
• Collaborate with incident response teams to investigate and respond to security incidents promptly.
• Develop and maintain firewall policies, rules, and documentation aligned with best practices and compliance requirements.
• Support security audits and assessments, ensuring adherence to standards.
• Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies.
• Assist in security awareness training for staff regarding firewall operations.
• Mentor junior analysts and provide guidance on firewall management and incident response processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in network security operations with a focus on firewall management.
• Hands‑on experience with firewall products.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, security principles and best practices.
• Experience with Checkpoint and Tufin.
• Experience with security monitoring tools such as Splunk and network visibility solutions like Netography.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing systems for incident management.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, Checkpoint CCSA) are a plus.
