Fire Protection Project Development Specialist

About the role

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Protection Project Development Specialist in Costa Rica to support the development of fire protection opportunities and turn customer needs into practical project solutions. The role works across sales, engineering, operations and field teams to move projects from initial scope through proposal and handoff, focusing on clear, accurate and timely project packages.

Key responsibilities

• Support fire protection project opportunities from early qualification through proposal and handoff.
• Gather customer requirements, site information and technical inputs to define project scope.
• Prepare and review proposals, scopes of work and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Operations and field teams on deliverables, timelines and execution.
• Review drawings, specifications and customer requests to spot gaps, risks and clarification needs.
• Confirm material needs, labor assumptions and execution constraints for project planning.
• Follow up on outstanding actions and maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Help resolve technical questions and support continuous improvement in estimating, handoff and project development.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, Business or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience supporting fire protection, fire alarm, sprinkler, suppression or related technical project development.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, scope documents and customer requirements.
• Strong communication and coordination skills across multiple teams; organized and able to manage several priorities.
• Nice to have: experience with customer-facing technical proposals or project handoff, and experience in a matrix environment with sales, engineering and field teams.
