Financial Data Analyst

About the role

Moody's is seeking a Financial Data Analyst to support the ratings and research process by analyzing issuer financial documents, adjusting reported data, and delivering accurate financial information to analysts and market participants. The role combines finance, accounting, and emerging AI tools to enhance analytical efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and adjust issuer financial statements in line with Moody's methodology, including ratio analysis and data validation.
• Collaborate with ratings analysts and accounting specialists to communicate findings, adjustments, and insights.
• Maintain documentation, mentor support analysts, and assist outsourcing partners.
• Contribute to special projects such as technology initiatives, methodology updates, and operational improvements.

Required profile

• B.A. or B.S. degree, preferably in Business Management, Accounting, Finance or related fields.
• 1–2 years of experience analyzing financial documents and applying accounting knowledge.
• Full proficiency in English for verbal and written communication.
• Ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis and accounting concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.) and other Office products.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to explain data and adjustments.
• Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts and interest in AI‑enabled tools.
