Facilities Technician II (Temporary)

About the role

Medtronic is seeking a Facilities Technician II on a temporary basis to support the maintenance of its plant and office facilities. The role involves hands‑on repair, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems to ensure uninterrupted operation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform repairs and routine maintenance on compressors, chillers, fire‑suppression systems and air‑handling units.
• Conduct inspections, tests and diagnostics on machinery and equipment using hand and power tools.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics and technical drawings.
• Execute work across multiple trades such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, sheet‑metal fabrication and welding.
• Document findings, generate reports and suggest improvements to maintenance processes.

Required profile

• High‑school diploma (Bachiller) or equivalent.
• Technical degree in electromechanics, electricity, electrotechnics or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar maintenance or facilities role.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Desirable: current engineering studies and experience with root‑cause problem‑solving methods (5 Whys).

Required skills

• Knowledge of compressors, chillers, fire‑suppression systems and air‑handling units.
• Electromechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Use of hand and power tools.
• Interpretation of blueprints, schematics and technical drawings.
• Advanced Office suite skills.
• Problem‑solving techniques (root‑cause analysis, 5 Whys).
