Director of Golf & Club Operations

About the role

The Director of Golf & Club Operations leads daily club activities, ensuring that member, guest, and employee experiences meet the high service standards of Discovery Land Company and Zapotal Golf & Beach Club. This senior position combines strategic leadership with hands‑on management of all golf‑related functions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee golf shop, range, caddie services, golf‑car fleet, and tournament operations.
• Supervise, train, and mentor the Head Golf Professional and the golf operations team.
• Develop operational procedures and training programs to deliver world‑class service.
• Enforce golf course rules and maintain course integrity.
• Coordinate tournaments, clinics, player‑development programs, and special events.
• Manage a profitable retail operation aligned with the club’s luxury brand.
• Collaborate with Agronomy and other departments for seamless member experiences.
• Support the VP of Operations in overall club oversight and strategic planning.
• Monitor budgets, forecasts, and operational costs to ensure fiscal responsibility.
• Ensure compliance with labor, safety, environmental laws, and company policies.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in golf or luxury club operations.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and forecasts.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to engage members, guests, and staff.
• Ability to develop and enforce policies, procedures, and SOPs.
• Track record of delivering exceptional service standards.
