Design Team Lead – Ecommerce Marketing Agency

About the role

The Design Team Lead oversees daily operations of the design team at Hustler Marketing, ensuring high‑quality email, SMS, ad, GIF and short‑video assets for ecommerce clients. The role blends hands‑on design with people management, acting as the bridge between Account Managers and designers.

Key responsibilities

• Review and improve design work before it reaches clients, diagnosing issues such as hierarchy, contrast, CTA weight, and mobile responsiveness.
• Provide clear visual direction to Account Managers and push back on weak briefs.
• Design directly when workload demands, maintaining consistency across diverse brand identities.
• Organise weekly workload, re‑prioritise tasks, and monitor team capacity to meet deadlines.
• Lead team meetings, one‑on‑ones, mentorship, onboarding, and cross‑department workshops.
• Identify workflow inefficiencies, document processes, and integrate new Figma features.

Required profile

• Senior graphic designer with 5+ years experience, including at least 3 years in email marketing design.
• Strong visual judgement and the ability to articulate design critiques clearly.
• Organised, calm under changing priorities, and comfortable leading a remote, multicultural team.
• Curious about tools and trends, and proactive in improving processes.

Required skills

• Expert‑level proficiency in Figma, including component library creation.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or Affinity.
• Experience producing ad images, animated GIFs, and short video edits.
