Customs Trainer – Global Services

About the role

As a Customs Trainer within Kuehne+Nagel Global Services, you will ensure the Customs team stays operationally ready, consistently trained, and aligned with core standards. You will translate complex customs regulations into practical learning experiences for a diverse workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver formal training sessions (virtual and in‑person) and on‑the‑job learning to improve daily execution.
• Interpret and apply Standard Work Instructions and critical customs processes accurately.
• Monitor training effectiveness using metrics such as error reduction, SLA compliance, and productivity gains.
• Promote a culture of ownership, quality, and collaboration through coaching and influence.
• Support leaders in performance discussions and escalation handling with insights on capability and process adherence.
• Partner with the Continuous Improvement team to embed efficiency initiatives and reduce execution variability.
• Contribute to cost‑to‑serve optimisation by reducing rework and enabling stable, scalable performance.
• Provide strategic insights for the Customs roadmap, anticipating execution risks and supporting future growth.

Required profile

• Minimum high school diploma.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Intermediate to advanced English level (B2+).
• Solid knowledge of customs regulations and logistics processes.
• Experience in instructional design, adult learning, and blended learning methodologies.
• Experience with operational systems such as CargoWise, tracking systems, or workflow tools.
• Exceptional communication and facilitation skills.
• Leadership capability with a strong influence‑driving and change‑management approach.
• Results‑oriented mindset with continuous‑improvement focus.
