Customs Specialist – Global Services

About the role

As a Customs Specialist within Kuehne+Nagel's Global Services, you will support customs processing activities, ensuring accurate and timely transactions while complying with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and service level agreements. You will work closely with internal teams and global branches to maintain operational efficiency and high‑quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Process customs transactions according to SOPs, work instructions, and regulatory requirements.
• Review and validate customs documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and airway bills.
• Enter and maintain accurate shipment data in operational systems to support customs entry, export, and transit processes.
• Prepare and support customs filings while ensuring compliance with company procedures and applicable regulations.
• Maintain accurate operational records and documentation.
• Meet productivity, quality, and cost‑efficiency targets while minimizing errors, penalties, and service disruptions.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and global branches to ensure smooth customs operations.
• Identify operational risks, escalate issues promptly, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in training, process migrations, stabilization activities, and operational readiness for new customers or services.
• Contribute to operational excellence, automation projects, and service quality enhancements.

Required profile

• High school diploma.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in English.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge or experience in international trade, customs entry processing, customs brokerage operations, or freight forwarding.
