Customer Service Representative – Export/Import Department

About the role

OOCL is expanding its new location in Escazu, Costa Rica and is looking for motivated Customer Service Representatives to join either the Export or Import department. The role is on‑site, Monday‑through‑Friday, and focuses on handling customer inquiries, managing bookings, and ensuring smooth cargo movement.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries for export or import cargo via email and telephone.
• Create, amend, or transfer export bookings using OOCL’s internal systems and follow regulatory guidelines.
• Monitor cargo in transit, track missing release items, and coordinate with internal and external parties to guarantee timely delivery.
• Invoice any additional charges incurred during the shipment cycle.
• Promote the use of OOCL’s online tools and perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in customer service within logistics or transportation.
• Ability to work collaboratively, adapt to changes, and think critically.

Required skills

• Knowledge of international cargo container movement.
• Understanding of US regulatory transportation requirements (customs, DOT, hazardous).
• Experience with terminal and rail operations.
