Concur & Card Applications Lead

About the role

Lonza is seeking a Concur & Card Applications Lead to own and evolve its SAP Concur Expense platform and corporate card program. Based in San Jose, Costa Rica, you will drive automation, improve user experience, and support global financial processes that ensure operational excellence and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Define strategy, roadmap, and system configuration for SAP Concur Expense and the corporate card program.
• Drive automation, standardisation, and continuous improvement to enhance compliance, efficiency and user experience.
• Collaborate with Finance, Accounts Payable, Procurement, HR, IT and external vendors to align operations.
• Lead system changes from requirements gathering through testing, deployment and post‑release support.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations, including workflow management, access controls and complex issue resolution.
• Maintain strong governance of expense policies, financial controls and audit/regulatory compliance.
• Champion user adoption through training, communication and stakeholder engagement worldwide.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field; transferable experience welcomed.
• Experience managing corporate card programs in a global organisation and/or SAP Concur experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of expense management, financial controls and compliance frameworks.
• Proven ability to drive process improvements, automation and system enhancements.
• Excellent stakeholder‑management skills across Finance, IT and business teams in multiple time zones.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and experience working with financial data and reporting.
