Buyer II – Direct Materials Procurement

About the role

The Buyer II will support the Procurement Excellence Buy Desk by developing and executing sourcing strategies for direct material categories. This role involves managing spot buys, sourcing events, and project‑related activities while collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Execute one‑time or low‑complexity sourcing requests for direct materials.
• Gather and analyze spend data using procurement analytics tools.
• Research and identify potential suppliers in partnership with the Market Intelligence team.
• Develop and run RFPs for spend under $1M per annum.
• Perform cost, scenario, and benchmarking analyses to shape sourcing strategies.
• Negotiate contract terms and pricing, delivering annual P&L savings.
• Document clear requirements and translate them into contracts and RFPs.
• Mentor junior sourcing generalists on category‑specific needs.

Required profile

• 3+ years of procurement experience in direct categories such as electrical, mechanical, chemicals, or packaging.
• Proven experience as a buyer, senior buyer, purchasing specialist, or procurement officer.
• Degree in engineering, supply chain management, operations, or business administration.
• High level of English proficiency, both written and verbal.
