Business Analyst – Controlling (GFS Americas)

About the role

AstraZeneca’s Global Financial Services (GFS) centre in San José is looking for a Controlling Business Analyst to support month‑end financial management, balance‑sheet governance and SOX controls across commercial regions. You will work within a team of analysts to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end close activities, including calendar management, manual voucher approvals and acting as the main point of contact.
• Perform balance‑sheet variance analysis, account reconciliations and financial consolidation.
• Prepare preliminary and final income‑statement figures and support external & internal audit processes.
• Own financial control framework responsibilities, including SOX control ownership and monitoring.
• Manage the accounting cycle and ensure timely statutory reporting to tax and central‑bank authorities.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in accounting, controlling or FP&A, preferably within a multinational environment.
• Recognized finance or accounting qualification (Bachelor, Licentiate or Master’s degree).
• Proven ability to work across diverse global teams and build remote relationships.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• SAP (FIN module) and SAP BW.
• Advanced Excel for financial analysis.
• PowerPoint for executive reporting.
