Banquet Manager

About the role

The Ritz-Carlton is hiring a Banquet Manager in Liberia, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. The role directs and motivates the team while personally helping deliver high-quality service according to requirements and standards, monitors financial and administrative responsibilities including asset protection, communicates clearly with all stakeholders and identifies training opportunities. The position is full time.

Key responsibilities

• Manage banquet operations: order supplies (china, glass, silver, buffet presentations, props), maintain sanitation levels, manage inventory and equipment, use beverage records to control liquor costs, schedule service staff and build lasting group relationships.
• Lead the banquet team: set goals, delegate tasks, hold monthly department meetings, act as liaison to the kitchen, lead shifts and participate in event service.
• Deliver exceptional customer service: gather guest feedback, handle complaints, empower staff and review comment cards and satisfaction results.
• Handle human resources: train staff on emergency and safety procedures, give feedback, monitor progress, run corrective action plans and review quarterly Meeting Planner survey results.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2 years of experience in event management, food and beverage or a related field.
• Professional proficiency in English and Spanish, written and spoken.
• Ability to communicate with international guests, meeting planners, residential owners and hotel leadership.
