About the role

The Point‑of‑Sale Assistant works closely with the Store Manager to ensure the pharmacy operates smoothly, complies with health regulations, and meets sales and service targets. This role is essential for maintaining a safe, well‑presented environment and delivering a high‑quality customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Open and close the pharmacy, safeguarding security codes and keys.
• Ensure compliance with Ministry of Health and Pharmacy Board regulations to keep the licence active.
• Handle cash and value management procedures according to the operational excellence guide.
• Drive sales, control expenses, and achieve margin and KPI objectives, proposing work plans when needed.
• Apply the established customer‑service protocol and resolve or escalate client complaints.
• Maintain store presentation and staff dress code according to standards.
• Monitor product availability, report shortages, and provide market‑demand feedback.
• Process returns and follow laboratory policies to avoid losses.
• Receive, organize, and store incoming merchandise following the store layout.
• Conduct cyclical inventory counts, adjust stock for internal use, discrepancies, royalties, theft, or damage, in coordination with the store leader.
• Place extraordinary orders to the central distribution centre, verify deliveries and resolve issues.
