ASIC Design Engineer

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is hiring an ASIC Design Engineer in Heredia. The role is hybrid, with an average of 2 days per week spent in an HPE office. The engineer designs, analyzes, develops and evaluates VLSI components and hardware systems, from architecture and logic design through to physical implementation of complex integrated circuits.

Key responsibilities

• Design, analyze, develop, modify and evaluate VLSI components and hardware systems, including architecture, logic design, simulation-based verification and physical implementation.
• Analyze designs to establish operating data, run experimental tests and evaluate results to enable prototype and production VLSI solutions.
• May direct support personnel in detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication.
• Provide technical expertise to a project team of Electronic and VLSI engineers and development partners across design, validation and testing of complex products and platforms.
• Collaborate with management and internal partners on design status, project progress and issue resolution, and represent the team on larger projects.
• Mentor less experienced staff and act as project lead when appropriate.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 1-6 years of experience in VLSI design, verification or implementation.
• Coursework in VLSI design or VLSI concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with mastery of English and the local language.

Required skills

• Electrical engineering fundamentals, VLSI principles, digital logic and computer architecture.
• VLSI component, integrated circuitry, architecture and algorithm design.
• Programming and scripting, hardware description languages, electronic design automation (EDA) and/or FPGA tools.
