ASIC Design Engineer

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is hiring an ASIC Design Engineer in Heredia. The role is hybrid, with an average of 2 days per week spent in an HPE office. The engineer designs, verifies and implements VLSI components and hardware systems, working with electronic and VLSI engineers and development partners.

Key responsibilities

• Design, analyze, develop, modify and evaluate VLSI components and hardware systems, determining architecture and logic design and building physical implementations through multidimensional layouts of complex integrated circuits.
• Analyze designs to establish operating data, run experimental tests and evaluate results to enable prototype and production VLSI solutions.
• Provide technical expertise to a project team covering design, validation and testing of complex products, solutions and platforms.
• Collaborate with management and internal partners on design status, project progress and issue resolution, and represent the team on larger projects.
• Mentor less experienced staff and act as project lead when appropriate.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 1-6 years of experience in VLSI design, verification or implementation.
• Coursework in VLSI design or VLSI concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, mastery of English and the local language.

Required skills

• Electrical engineering fundamentals, VLSI principles, digital logic and computer architecture.
• VLSI component, integrated circuitry, architecture and algorithm design.
• Programming and scripting, hardware description languages, electronic design automation (EDA) and/or FPGA tools.
