Application & Data Architect (Remote)

About the role

Software Mind is looking for an experienced Application & Data Architect to act as the technical authority for its application ecosystem. You will translate business goals into technical road‑maps, guide external development partners, and ensure scalable, secure solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain end‑to‑end application and data architecture, including standards for APIs, middleware, and event‑driven integration.
• Lead and review external vendors, approving designs and code while enforcing architectural standards.
• Establish data governance, quality, and integration across ERP, CRM, eCommerce and other systems.
• Partner with leadership to convert business objectives into technical requirements and simplify complex concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
• Evaluate SaaS vs. custom development, build‑vs‑buy decisions, and design integration architecture.
• Implement architecture governance processes and participate in sprint reviews, backlog prioritisation, and delivery checkpoints.

Required profile

• 8–12+ years in application or data architecture roles.
• Fluent English (minimum B2 level, 90% written and oral).
• Proven experience leading vendor‑based development environments.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Experience with API‑driven architecture, data modelling and pipelines.
• Hands‑on integration experience with ERP (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite) and CRM systems.
