Analyst, Customer Service (US Payroll/Tax)

About the role

The Analyst, Customer Service (US Payroll/Tax) ensures accuracy and compliance in payroll tax operations across federal, state, local, and Puerto Rico jurisdictions. This position supports employees in multiple tax jurisdictions and collaborates with payroll, HR, finance, and external vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Assist employees with payroll tax inquiries via phone, chat, email, or tickets.
• Manage setup and maintenance of employee tax profiles for all applicable withholding requirements.
• Review payroll data for accurate tax withholdings, taxable wages, deductions, and employer liabilities before final processing.
• Prepare, review, and submit payroll tax payments, returns, and filings on monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles.
• Reconcile payroll tax reports, wage records, general‑ledger data, and third‑party provider reports.
• Research and resolve tax notices, agency inquiries, discrepancies, and employee questions under senior mentorship.
• Track regulatory updates and adjust procedures or reference documents accordingly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, HR or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 2 years experience in payroll, tax, accounting, finance, HR operations, or customer support.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to examine data for accuracy.
• Ability to handle confidential payroll information with discretion.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and standard office applications.
• Experience using payroll HRIS or tax filing systems (preferred).
