Accounting Associate - Accounts Receivable (Remote, Costa Rica)

About the role

UA Brands, a global fashion apparel company, opened a Shared Services Center in Costa Rica in December 2020; most of its Costa Rica team works exclusively from home. The Accounting Associate Accounts Receivable ensures timely and accurate invoicing, collects outstanding receivables, follows up on past-due balances and posts daily customer payments accurately. The role also supports the AR function through credit applications, account reviews, statements, customer correspondence and billing discrepancies.

Key responsibilities

• Enter invoices and payment information for customers in Microsoft AX
• Prepare and send customer invoices and statements
• Process payments, debit memos, credit memos and write-offs
• Maintain customer master account information
• Process credit applications and new customer setups
• Contact customers about questions, issues, payment status and reasons for non-payment, including follow-up for collection
• Prepare aging reports for management review and monthly reconciliation reports between Microsoft AX and Retail Pro
• Future responsibility for performance management of the A/R department and improving AR processes with AI tools

Required profile

• Bilingual (English and Spanish), with the ability to read, speak and write English
• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• 10 to 15 years of experience as Accounting Associate Accounts Receivable
• 8 years each in AR billing and collection, applying payments to open invoices, and customer correspondence and account reconciliation
• Experience in Microsoft AX and Retail Pro
• Quiet, private, distraction-free home workspace with no conflicting responsibilities during scheduled shifts

Required skills

• Microsoft AX, Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe PDF
• Understanding of SharePoint, Business Objects and Workfront
• Minimum internet speed of 100 Mbps upload/download
