Accounting Analyst – Month-End Close & Reconciliations

About the role

Amazon's Finance Operations, Accounting & Analysis (FOAA) team is looking for an Accounting Analyst to support month‑end and quarter‑end close activities for non‑integrated subsidiaries. You will work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, ensuring compliance with accounting standards while driving process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Execute month‑end and quarter‑end close activities on schedule and to Amazon’s high standards.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations in line with Amazon policy.
• Support or lead small accounting projects aimed at enhancing controllership and efficiency.
• Leverage AI, accounting systems, and process improvements to optimise workflows.

Required profile

• 3+ years of transactional accounting experience.
• Accounting degree or equivalent.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1‑CEFR or equivalent).
• Hands‑on experience with month‑end close, sub‑ledger management, balance‑sheet reconciliation and reporting.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, charts, SUMIF, VLOOKUP).
• Microsoft Access.
• Oracle Financial Applications.
• Essbase.
• SQL.
• VBA programming.
• Experience using AI tools to improve accounting processes.
