VP Payroll

About the role

Moody's is seeking an experienced payroll leader at the VP or AVP level to own end‑to‑end delivery of global payroll projects, M&A integrations and process improvement initiatives across its worldwide payroll footprint.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage global payroll projects from initiation through completion, including scoping, planning, stakeholder alignment and risk management.
• Own payroll workstreams for mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, handling due diligence, system/data integration, harmonisation of pay practices and post‑close stabilisation.
• Identify, design and implement process‑improvement and automation initiatives to increase accuracy, reduce manual effort and strengthen controls.
• Serve as subject‑matter expert on Workday HCM functionality, configuration and reporting, partnering with HRIS/Technology teams.
• Maintain strong knowledge of ADP payroll processing and, where applicable, CloudPay to support in‑country and outsourced payroll delivery models.
• Partner with People Team Operations, Benefits, Finance and Technology to ensure seamless coordination of payroll‑impacting processes.
• Develop and maintain payroll documentation, controls and SOPs to support audit readiness and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Significant experience in global or multi‑country payroll operations, including leading payroll projects and process‑improvement initiatives.
• Direct experience with M&A payroll integration, system consolidation, data migration and harmonisation of pay and time practices.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. and international payroll tax rules, filings and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with ability to partner effectively across functions.
• Prior experience operating at VP or AVP level within a payroll, HR operations or shared services organisation is preferred.
