Travel Experience Counselor I (Entry Level)

About the role

As a Travel Experience Counselor I you will join Amex GBT’s Traveler Care team, providing personalized travel advice and booking services to corporate clients. This entry‑level position is based in our Santa Ana office serving the San Jose market and offers a gateway to a career in the travel industry.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and arrange domestic and international business travel for individual and group corporate customers.
• Research travel options, anticipate traveler needs and promote additional services.
• Book air, road, rail and accommodation using Global Distribution Systems such as Sabre, Apollo, Galileo and Amadeus.
• Ensure compliance with client travel policies, service provider rules and regulatory requirements.
• Handle special requests, resolve issues promptly and provide high‑quality telephone service.
• Collaborate with team members to coach, mentor and improve service levels.
• Participate in a 24/7 operation, including night shifts and weekends as needed.

Required profile

• Passion for delivering excellent client service and proactive problem solving.
• Strong attention to detail and integrity when handling personal traveler information.
• Team player open to feedback and willing to work flexible hours.
• Ability to work onsite at the Forum, Santa Ana office.

Required skills

• Native expertise in at least one GDS (Sabre, Apollo, Galileo or Amadeus).
• Professional written and verbal communication.
• Understanding of the travel industry, including business travel or airline reservations.
