Temporary Buyer – New Product Procurement

About the role

Teradyne is seeking a Temporary Buyer to support the Boston, MA region from its Costa Rica office. The role focuses on ensuring a reliable material pipeline for new products by analysing Bills of Materials and managing MRP processes. This 1‑year fixed‑term position works closely with engineering and operations teams to keep product development on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Requisition and purchase of materials and inventory items for new product projects.
• Execute expense and inventory purchase orders and resolve critical material shortages.
• Track product cost and develop risk‑management plans.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Operations New Product Teams and communicate with all management levels.
• Work independently in a volatile environment and propose creative problem‑solving solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Industrial Engineering or equivalent, or relevant supply‑chain experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain or operations.
• Proficiency in English.
• Ability to work autonomously and across functional teams.

Required skills

• Office Package (including advanced Excel).
• Oracle procurement system.
• CPM certification for electromechanical materials.
