Technical Account Manager I, Books, North America

About the role

The North America Books team is looking for a Technical Account Manager (TAM) to lead the ingestion of metadata across the digital and physical supply chain, from publishers and content providers to end book readers. The role builds relationships with publishers and stakeholders worldwide to drive end-to-end integration of content within Amazon systems, in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively monitor ingestion and operational systems to identify and address issues
• Manage a portfolio of assigned publishers and vendors, including biweekly meetings with them and with Account and Vendor Managers
• Work with teams to launch new publishers, processes, programs and features
• Drive data-driven decisions and surface innovation opportunities to improve efficiency
• Implement catalog and metadata improvement projects, including ASIN migration, availability management, Big Book releases, brand code mapping, titleset and contributor issues, and buyability
• Develop training and communications for publishers and drive root cause tracking and resolution
• Interact with content providers on deliveries, spec changes and problems related to ingestion, processing and reporting
• Handle brand registry onboarding and escalation resolution

Required profile

• Experience scripting or coding
• Experience managing external vendors, distributors, partners or learning providers
• 2+ years of experience driving process improvements
• Fluent speaking, writing and reading in English

• Digital media and distribution: XML, ONIX, FTP, DRM
• Microsoft Excel
• Preferred: SQL, advanced Excel, cloud computing concepts, internet fundamentals, data-backed decision making, and Media & Entertainment law experience
