Supply Chain Director

About the role

The Supply Chain Director will lead and optimise the end‑to‑end supply chain function for a medical device company in Alajuela. This senior role ensures that procurement, planning, warehousing, logistics and supplier management support production needs, regulatory compliance and cost optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic supply chain plans aligned with company objectives.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiate contracts and monitor performance.
• Oversee inventory levels, implement controls to improve accuracy and minimise excess stock.
• Manage end‑to‑end logistics, including transportation, warehousing and distribution, and work with logistics partners to optimise delivery schedules.
• Ensure compliance with medical device regulatory standards and implement quality control measures.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, sales and other departments to align supply chain operations with business needs.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to resolve supply chain challenges and drive corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 7+ years of supply chain management experience in medical devices or other regulated industries.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements for medical device manufacturing.
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
• Proven leadership and team development experience.
