SQL Database Administrator (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled SQL Database Administrator to join our team remotely. You will be responsible for ensuring the high availability, performance, and security of our SQL Server environments across both on‑premises and Azure cloud platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, monitor, and maintain SQL Server databases for high availability, performance, and security.
• Manage Azure SQL Managed Instances, Azure SQL Databases, and SQL on Azure Virtual Machines.
• Perform database patching, upgrades, backups, restores, and disaster‑recovery planning.
• Monitor and tune query performance, indexing, and server resource utilization.
• Manage Azure Virtual Machines, storage, networking, and database connectivity.
• Work with Azure Queues and Service Bus for data processing and messaging workloads.
• Implement security, access controls, encryption, auditing, and compliance standards.
• Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, T‑SQL, and Azure monitoring tools.

Required profile

• Proven experience administering SQL Server databases in both on‑premises and Azure environments.
• Strong understanding of Azure infrastructure services related to database workloads.
• Ability to design and execute backup, restore, and disaster‑recovery strategies.
• Experience with performance tuning and resource optimization.
